Channing G. Hall, 80, Dubois

Channing HallChanning G. Hall, 80, of Dubois, died Monday (July 8) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born in Cuzco on March 31, 1933, to Robert and Grace (Conrad) Hall. He married Wilma Voelkel  on October 26, 1957, in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois.

Channing was an Army veteran and worked for the Jasper Corporation for over 43 years. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois. He enjoyed gardening, fixing lawnmowers, and auctions.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Hall; one daughter, Channa Helming and her husband Dwayne, Dubois; two sons, Steven Hall and his wife Brenda, Hilliard, Ohio, and Curt Hall of Dubois and companion Lorna Shelton of Paoli; three grandchildren, Clayton Helming, Kristin Helming, and Jordan Hall; one brother,
Donald Hall and his wife Edith, Cuzco; three sisters, Wilma Dorsam and her husband Marlin, Huntingburg, Christine Egg, Jasper, and Sandra Sue Craig, Huntingburg.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bobbie Gene Hall, Huntingburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Pastor Vennard Walter will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before the service time at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ.
