Patricia J. Gootee, 85, Jasper

Patricia GooteePatricia J. Gootee, 85, of Jasper, died Monday (July 1) Brookside Village in Jasper.

She was born April 28, 1928, in Chicago, Edward and Lucille (Malloy) Hallihan. She married Francis H. Gootee June 24, 1950, in Chicago. He preceded her in death June 20, 2013.

She was a homemaker, a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Jasper Chapter of Tri-Kappa Sorority, the Serra Club, and the Jasper Community Players. She enjoyed needlepoint, playing bridge, the theater, and shopping.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Pat Fuhrman and husband James, St. Louis, Marita Gootee and her partner Wendy Roussin, Starkville, Mississippi, and Maureen Gootee and her partner Angela Steele, Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Edward Gootee and wife Fay,  Floyd Knobs, and David Gootee and partner Mark Gilley, Orlando; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Gootee.

Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.
