Dr. Ray William Arensman, 91, Evansville

Dr. Ray ArensmanDr. Ray William Arensman, 91, Evansville, died Friday (June 28) at his home.

He was born at Huntingburg October 14, 1921, to William and Ada Arensman. He married Helen Mae Lukemeyer in 1946.

Dr. Arensman graduated from Evansville College and Indiana University. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. He served on the faculty at Indiana University and was dean of the School of Business at the University of Evansville. He served on the boards of Miller Block, People’s Savings and Credit Thrift. He played in five bands and founded The Temple Airs. He was named an outstanding professor at U of E and received the Evansville Rotary Civic Award in 2006.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Mae Arensman; one daughter, Ann Rice and husband Dr. Patrick, Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada; one son, Dr. Frederick Arensman and wife Barbara, Louisville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services at 1 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday at Methodist Temple, 2109 Lincoln Ave., Evansville. The Rev. Stephen Beutler will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.
