Helen L. Buechler, 78, St. Anthony

Helen BuechlerHelen L. Buechler, 78, of St. Anthony, passed away Sunday (June 23) at home.

She was born on August 10, 1934, in Schnellville to Matt and Frances (Prechtel) Lueken. She married Ralph L. Buechler on June 22, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville.

She was a homemaker, a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and member of the St. Anthony Christian Mothers. She was a loving wife and mother whose life revolved around her family. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and her flower garden.

Surviving, are her husband, Ralph Buechler, St. Anthony; four daughters, Cheryl Wigand and her husband Gary, Jasper, Karen Mehling, Newburgh,
Ann East and her husband John, Evansville, and Tara Roos and her husband Roger, Evanston, Indiana; three sons, Alan Buechler, St. Anthony, Tom Buechler and his wife Nita, Evansville, and Ron Buechler and his wife Debbie, Ferdinand; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers Albert Lueken and his wife LaVerne, Jasper, and Herbert Lueken and his wife Rita, Jasper. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ardella Weyer, and four brothers, Othmar, Ollie, Edwin, and Robert Lueken, and one son-in-law, Mark Mehling.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST  Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony,  with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m.  Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or to a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner.com.
