Valada E. Marx, 93, Jasper

Valada MarxValada E. Marx, 93, of Jasper, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday (June 18) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born on February 21, 1920, in Huntingburg, to Louis and Lillian (Lynch) Frick. She married Elmer “Bud” Marx on December 18, 1965, in Owensboro Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2003.

Valada retired from General Electric in Owensboro,  where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. She was a charter member of Huntingburg VFW Post 2366 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Huntingburg High School Class of 1938. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and reading.

Surviving are four step-children, Janet Marx, Steve Marx and wife Linda, Gary Marx, and Mike Marx and wife Doris, all of Evansville; eight step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Gail Dearing, who died in infancy, brothers Earl, Arthur, Don, and Jim Frick, and one sister Doris L. Arensman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time at the church Saturday.
