Reginald “Reggie” L. Sermersheim, 64, Ireland

Reggie SermersheimReginald “Reggie” L. Sermersheim, 64, of Ireland, died Tuesday (June 4) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

Reggie was born  in Huntingburg on August 7, 1948, to Jerome A. and Laverne E. (Durcholz) Sermersheim. He was formerly employed at a Mercy Catholic Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he worked for 28 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and the Jasper Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed reading scriptures and prayers.

Surviving are his mother, Laverne E. Sermersheim, Jasper; four sisters, Connie Helming, and her husband Bernie, Jasper, Bonnie Keusch, Jasper, Carla Matheis, Washington, Indiana, and Lori Koerner, and her husband, Matt, Washington, Indiana; six brothers, Gary Sermersheim, and his wife Charlene, Mark Sermersheim, and his wife Sharon, and Nick Sermersheim, and his wife Tammy, all of Ireland, Duane Sermersheim, Huntingburg, Jeff Sermersheim, and his wife, Patty, Stendal, and Daryl Sermersheim, and his wife Beth, Boise, Idaho; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome A. Sermersheim, brother-in-law, Dennis “Red” Keusch, and nephew, Derek Arvin.

A celebration of life and memorial mass will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Benedict at Ferdinand, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, and St. Louis Catholic Church in Pinecrest, Florida. Online condolences may be made at
