Emil H. Fuhrman, 79, Jasper

Emil FuhrmanEmil H. Fuhrman, 79, of Jasper, passed away at 4:14 a.m. Tuesday (May 7) at The Timbers of Jasper. Emil was born in Jasper on September 5, 1933, to Elmer P. and Margaret (Braun) Fuhrman. He married Ellen Frady on March 27, 1965, in Frady United Methodist Church in Raglesville, Indiana.

Emil was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.

Surviving are his wife, Ellen Fuhrman; two daughters, Marcia Hopf, and her husband Gary, Bloomington, Illinois, and Karen Lovell, and her husband Steve, Oswego, Illinois; two sons, Stan Fuhrman, Jasper, and Kevin Fuhrman, and his wife Susan, Bloomington, Illinois; six grandchildren; three sisters,
Lovella Singer, and her husband Paul, Jasper, Luetta Mercier, and her husband George, Bloomington, Indiana, and Ruth Elkins, Anderson; one brother
Luther Fuhrman, Shoals; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (May 10) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.
