Iris VinsekIris C. Vinsek, 96 of Ferdinand, died Wednesday April 24th at Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand. She was born June 1, 1916 in Ferdinand to Alois & Delphine (Linder) Niehaus. She married Norman “Joe” Vinsek on September 3,1938 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He
preceded her in death on May 7, 1984.

 

Iris retired from Stokley-VanKamps and also from Marion Catholic High School in the Chicago area. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish. Her hobbies included quilting and gardening, especially flowers & vegetables.

 

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Eugene & Robert Niehaus, and 1 sister, Evelyn Steczyk.

 

Survivors include 1 son, Karl Vinsek of Ferdinand, and 1 daughter, Judy Wilson of North Richland Hills, TX.  Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren & 4 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service is 9:00AM Saturday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include one son, Karl Vinsek of Ferdinand; one daughter, Judy Wilson of North Richland Hills, Texas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
