Joshua Wayne Laymon, 32, Holland

Joshua LaymonJoshua Wayne Laymon, 32, Holland, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday (April 20) in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born in Jasper on May 16, 1980, to Larry J. and Diana (Schepers) Laymon.

Surviving are his companion and fiancée, Kathryn Smith, Holland; a daughter, Haley Rose Laymon, Holland; his mother and stepfather, Diana and Will Denton, St. Anthony; his father, Larry J. Laymon, Winchester, California; a brother, Jason Laymon, Huntingburg; a sister, Shenna Schnell, Huntingburg; his maternal grandparents, Ralph Schepers, Long Beach, California, and Sandra Eickelberger, French Lick; and his paternal grandmother, Martha Dickson, Tell City. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Larry K. Laymon.

Mr. Laymon worked 10 years at Peabody Coal Company and was employed by MasterBrand Cabinets in Ferdinand at the time of his death. He was a member of Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles, attended Holland United Methodist Church, was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday in Holland United Methodist Church. Burial in Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
