Timothy M. Kunkler, 58, Charlestown

Timothy KunklerTimothy M. Kunkler, 58, Charlestown, died Thursday, April 4, in Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

He was born in Huntingburg on July 13, 1954, to Sam and Mary (Resenbeck) Kunkler.

Mr. Kunkler formerly owned four Shave Ice shops, 7th Inning Stretch sports card shops and Monday Flowers. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a former children’s church, Bible study and Cub Scout leader and a Little League baseball and basketball coach.

Surviving are his wife, the former Marilyn Auffart; two sons, Ryan Kunkler, Henryville, and Nathan Kunkler, and his wife, Ashlee, Charlestown; two brothers, Wayne Kunkler, Birdseye, and Robert Kunkler, Holland; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Kunkler; his parents; and his stepfather, Clyde Carnahan.

Services were held April 7 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.
