Jerry R. Isenbarger, 77, Jasper

IsenbargerJerry R. Isenbarger, 77 of Jasper, formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (April 11) at his home.

He was born on March 25, 1936, in Indianapolis to Lawrence and Harriet (Griswold) Isenbarger. He married Rosalie Raney on November 22, 1975, in Elkhart.

Mr. Isenbarger worked as a purchasing agent in the boating manufacturing industry for over 25 years. First for Starcraft and later for Smokercraft, from which he retired. He was a Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. A graduate of Mishawaka High School and Ball State University, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka, Jasper American Legion Post #147, and the Osceola Lions Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He enjoyed reading, golfing, fishing, movies, traveling, and spending time with his wife and his dog Cubby.

Surviving are his wife, Rosalie; three sons, Tim Isenbarger, Osceola, Indiana, Gary Isenbarger and wife Molly,   Jim Isenbarger and wife Kelly, Elkhart; a grandson they raised, Russell Yoder and his wife Miranda, New Hampshire; seven other grandchildren, Kayla, Maddy, Brooks, Melaine, Ally, Kendall, and Caitlyn Isenbarger; one sister, Janet Blocker and husband Darrell, Jasper. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Isenbarger.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. before services at the church. There will be no visitation at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home in Jasper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Humane Society, the Osceola Lions Club, or a favorite charity. Online condolences may be made at
