Lester W. Weisheit, 80, Haysville

Lester WeisheitLester W. Weisheit, 80, of Haysville, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, (April 3), in the Timbers of Jasper Health Care Center.

He was born at Haysville, November 15, 1932, to Edward and Katherine (Neukam) Weisheit.  He married Marcella Street on August 14, 1956, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana.

Mr. Weisheit retired from Indiana Furniture Industries in Jasper and had previously worked for the Jasper Seating Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Korea.  He is a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and  V.F.W. Post # 673.

Surviving are his wife, Marcella; one daughter, Cindy Gehlhausen and her husband Fred, Huntingburg; four sons, Mike Weisheit and his wife Peggy, Cuzco, Dwayne Weisheit and his wife Tracey, Jasper, Darren Weisheit and his wife Tonya, Celestine, and Kevin Weisheit and his wife Audrey, Haysville; ten grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Thimling, Haysville, Mildred Noble and her husband Donald, Haysville, and Mabel Woolsey and her husband Robert, Dale; three brothers, Lenus Weisheit and his wife Sarah, Amos Weisheit, and James Weisheit, all of Jasper. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Schmitt, one sister, Vernelda Mauder, and one brother, Cletus Weisheit.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  The Rev. Charla Grieves will officiate. V.F.W. Post 673 will conduct military  grave side rites. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville.
