Betty Jean Risley, 83, Evansville

Betty RisleyBetty Jean Risley, 83, Evansville, died Thursday (March 28) at Deaconess Hospice Care in Evansville.

She was born in Jasper on October 6, 1929, to Walter and Annetta (Huebner) Fuhrman.

Surviving are a daughter Myra Risley-Perrin and her husband, Jeff Perrin, Indianapolis; one son Mark Risley and his wife, Nadine, Evansville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas and Lavere Fuhrman.

Ms. Risley was a 1947 graduate of Jasper High School and had worked for a doctor and at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. In 1958 she and her husband started Risley TV Sales and Service, now Risley Electronics Inc. She had a 55-year career in the company and visited many foreign countries to share and be recognized for her trailblazing work in the consumer electronics industry. She enjoyed sports and was on the board of directors of the University of Southern Indiana Varsity Club. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and active in church groups.

Funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville. Pastor Steve Clayton will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Evansville. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today (Friday) and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
