Roman Schroeder, 84, Jasper

Roman SchroederRoman Schroeder, 84, of Jasper, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 20) at his home. He was born in Jasper June 8, 1928, to Edward J. and Theresa (Reyling) Schroeder. He married Patricia McCormack February 14, 1950, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Roman owned and operated the Schroeder Plumbing and Heating Company in Jasper for many years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Jasper Knights of Columbus, and the a lifetime member of the Plumbing, Heating Contractors Association (PHCA). He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Schroeder; daughters Martha Faul and her husband David, Indianapolis, Beth Murphy and her husband John, Indianapolis, Janet Lee and her husband David, Jasper; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, sisters, Bernadine Livers, Evansville, Sr. Marie David, SP, and Sr. Louise Schroeder, SP,  both of Saint Mary of the Woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Schroeder, and three sisters, Calista Kunkel, and Pearl and Helen Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
